She turned out to have a poor credit rating, had once left an apartment owing thousands of dollars in rent. Multiple credit cards nearly maxed out and at least one, maybe more, with recent nonpayment. Current landlord has taken her to court for unpaid rent. For all I know, though she had no prior eviction records, she could be in process of being evicted right now. I didn't dodge a bullet but a cannon ball! This tenant could have ruined my life. Thanks, RentPrep!
The only thing I would change is perhaps adding a way for the applicant to pay the fees directly to RentPrep to take one step out of the process for me.
This prospective tenant provided a good front and impressive personality, very competent manner, good job, beautiful car, etc., and I thought doing the RentPrep screening was a formality. I could not have been more wrong!
